On May 3rd, over 60 senior athletes were honored at the annual Senior Athletic Dinner held at Carriage Greens Golf Club in Darien. Students, parents and coaches were all in attendance to watch seniors as they were recognized for their athletic achievements.

“It’s such a nice night for the kids to be looked at for their individual successes as well as their teams’,” said Booster Club President, Gary Zeleny. “It was very nicely organized and well put together.” Dodi Krug organized the dinner this year.

Each athlete received a plaque and key chain with their name on it. Some students were recognized for excelling in their sports career at RB. Claire Chaney and Alex Shaw were named Scholar Athletes, having both held over 4.5 GPAs for their entire careers. Robert LeBeau, Regan Riley, Samantha Brown and Rachel Buccieri were awarded for being 12 Sport Athletes, in which the participated in three sports a year for all four years at RB.

The title of Female Athlete of the Year was shared by Riley and Buccieri, and Male Athlete of the Year went to Graham Risley who was named as an All-American this swim season.  

“It was really cool that they gave to award to both Rachel and me,” said Riley, “I couldn’t think of anyone better to share it with.”
