Welch, Sinde, Moon elected to school board

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
●SWiM takes all three contested seats
●Ran incredibly strong campaign
●Expected to ally with Marciniak to create change
●Hruska, Bensfield, McCloskey not returning

On April 7th, 2009, voters elected three new members to the District 208 school board. Mike Welch, Matt Sinde, and Dan Moon will be the new school board members come May.

Welch led the precincts, with Sinde following close behind. With 32 of 35 precincts reporting, Dan Moon held a 225 vote lead over incumbent Karen Bensfield.

The team ran incredibly strong in Riverside, taking the precincts almost two to one.

After many hours of hard work, the SWiM candidates have finally been elected onto the school board.

The SWiM candidates are expected to ally with current board member Jim Marciniak to create change in the system. Stated goals of the team include revamping the AP program and more fiscal transparency.

Karen Bensfield, Laura Hruska, and Bill McCloskey will all not be returning to the school board.
